pdf pages appear too high on page

In Word 2008, my pages are "full length" but when I print to pdf, there appears to be too much blank space at the bottom of each page, as if my text is not centered vertically, even though all the content is present. Is there a way I can make my text get centered vertically on each page?

I'm not sure I understand what you're describing... Word doesn't center
vertically as a matter of default. There is a specification in Format>
Document - Layout for Vertical Alignment, but I'm not sure that will solve
the problem as you describe it. If the document appears correctly in Print
Layout View & in Print Preview that's how the PDF should turn out.

Can you be more specific about the nature of the document content, whether
it happens on some pages as opposed to all, & whether it is the one document
or every document that PDFs the same way. Any additional details can help
including all margin settings, paper size, etc.

Also, give your exact version update levels for both Office & OS X as well
as which method you're using to generate the PDF. It may also help to have
the non-printing characters ( ¶ ) turned on & describe what you see.

This is a classic symptom of printing a "Letter" page size on A4 paper.
Could it be that?

This comment is to Bob Jones's reply (I couldn't get the window to open directly under it...sorry).

OS 10.5.8 and Word 2008 and using Print PDF in Word to create the PDF. I wasn't sure how to turn on the nonprinting characters (are those the Hidden characters?)

I have 250 pages of full text or combination of text with embedded jpegs. The extra spacing that seems to exist at the bottom of pages occurs consistently throughout entire document. Fortunately, the PRINT LAYOUT and PRINT PREVIEW screens all look just right...so maybe there is no real problem.

I tried varying the VErtical alignment under Format>document from top to center to bottom, but it made no difference... all of the pdfs I created looked identical. Thanks for the help!
