Is there any way to copy and paste text from a PDF document to Word
without having to manually reformat the text?

There are "OCR" programs you can purchase that will convert a PDF document
into a Word file.

The one I use is the ScanSoft® PDF Converter. It's not perfect, but then
nothing man-made is.
