Outlook does not open pdf files. Your Adobe Reader with the Oulook addin does
that. Download the latest version at the Adobe site. You need to manually
remove the old version of the Reader in Control Panel since Adobe doesn't. http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
Depending on where your mailbox is located (on a remote Exchange Server,
perhaps?), large file attachments may need to be transferred first,
which could take a long time, not the actual opening of the document.
