Per-session cookie error when using project professional to connec

Hi,
I get the following error message when i click on Collabrate-->Risks from
within project pro

"You cannot be logged on because your security settings in Internet Explorer
do not allow per-session cookies. Enable per-session cookies, and try to log
on again. (5011)"

I have enabled the per-session cookies to no avail

Does anyone know what the problem is here?

do you otherwise have access to the WSS site ?
if not then you may need to set it up as a trusted site

I realised just after i posted this that i should have said that i had added
the site to the trusted site list..afraid that's not it

I have access to the site no problem using IE

I have overcome this problem by logging into project web access first
then launching project professional..

Don't understand why i need to do this but at least it works
If anyone has the correct solution or indeed the reason for this behaviour
i'd appreciate them letting me know
