percentages not changing on a chart

We have some charts that are based on other spreadsheets
and we said add percentages when we created the charts. We
are now changing the underlying numbers. The actual cells
containing the percentages are changing. The Sum of the
category on the chart is changing but the Percentage on
the chart is not being updated. Any clue?
