perform batch updates to text fields in Visio2003 drawings

Looking for a method for performing mass updates to existing Visio2003 docs.
Text fields and/or stencil changes to synchronize Network config diagrams.
No published APIs appear to be available in Visio Pro 2003... Anyone have
experience with doing bactch edits in Pro2003?

The api's for visio are in fact published with a very good set of examples
in the visio sdk , which is available for free on msdn. There is also a good
