Permission to allow saving Baseline

Barb K

We are using MS Project Server 2007.
I would like to set a baseline for a project which I am not the owner. I
get a message saying that I do not have permissions. I am surprised by this
since I can update the project, add/delete tasks, publish, etc. About the
only thing I cannot do is set a baseline.

Any ideas?

In the Project Managers group, the "Save Protected Baseline" permission for
the My Organization category is set to Not Allowed. The My Organization
category refers to projects for which you are not the Owner or Status
Manager. The Protected Baseline refers to the Baseline and Baseline 1-5
sets of fields. If the PM's in your company need to be able to save a
Baseline for projects that do not belong to them, your Project Server
administrator would need to set the above-referenced permission to Allow.
Or, if you are the only one who should be able to do this, he/she could
create a custom Group in which you are the only member, add the My
Organization category, and then set the above-referenced permission to
Allow. Hope this helps.
