Permissions to Install

J

James Lord

Hi There,
I have an installation of Office 2003, running on Win2k SP4 with terminal
services and Citrix XPe SP4.
I have performed a full install of Office 2003 on the server.
The issue that I am currently experiencing is that if a powepoint slide is
imbedded into a word document it will try and install a snap-in to handle
displaying the slide.
This is fine when a user as administrative rights.
Is there a quick and easy fix to allow users to install the required
snap-ins but not elevate their permission??

TIA

Jim

Hi Jim,

This article from the Microsoft Office 2003 Resource kit

on installing Office 2003 with elevated privileges may help. It's basically the Windows environment parameters that control this.
