permissions/user passwords

I have a sub-web set up for permissions and user accounts. Question is where
do I change the user(s) password(s) from Admin Home (FP client) option?

This is the only info I see. Nothing under these sub-options to change a
users password, I do have the option to add/delete a user. When I initially
add a user I do get the password blocks.

Users and Roles

The links below take you to administration pages where you can perform
tasks such as adding users, assigning roles to users, and inviting users to
your Web site.

They must be changed on the host server. Contact your host.

There is a manual way for you to do this. I'm using FP2000, so I will
walk you through the required steps in my version of FP.

1) Log into the website you want to alter using FrontPage (as an
administrator)

2) Select - Tools | Security | Permisions

3) Select the 'user to change' then 'click' the 'Edit' button, then
(temporarily) rasie the users persions to "Author and Browse this web"

4) Close web & close FP

5) Restart FP and open the web using the 'changed users' details

6) Select - Tools | Security | Change Password.

7) Change the password, close the web, close FP

8) Restart FP, reopen web using your usual credentials

9) Select - Tools | Security | Permisions then return the users
permissions back to what they orrigainally were.

I realise that this is a bit cumbersome and deleting then recreating the
user may seem easier, but I was just trying to point out that Passwords
can be changed without the need to delete then recreate the user.

Thanks for the info. I will just delete and re-enter them as need be.

At least I know I wasn't over looking something.
