Permissions

Is there a way to allow project managers to see projects that their projects
have external links to in project center but not let them open the project in
project pro? I'm currently utilizing RBS for security. Everything is
working fine except that when a link is created by someone who has
permissions to see both projects, when each respective project manager opens
up their respective projects they can't see the other projects cause they
don't have permissions to see it, thus not allowing them to accept the links
cause they can't see the project. My workaround was to add the PMs as team
members. However, the PMs now have the ability to open projects that they
are not the PM of but have a link to it and are team members of.

If you are using cross-project dependencies, then I think this invalidates
your current security situation, which allows each PM to see and open only
his own projects. I would propose that you simply allow every PM to see and
open every other PM's projects. This will eliminate your problem with
cross-project depenencies. Beyond this, if you open up the security
environment to allow each PM to see all projects, you will also need to set
a methodology that no PM is allowed to open and modify a project belonging
to any other PM. Those who violate this need to be dealt with harshly.
Hope this helps.
