I am very new to Microsoft Project Server. I have been able to setup a
Server and Upload a Microsoft Project file to the pwa site.

Some of the tasks in the file have resources allocated to them and others do
not. What I would like to do is make it so my manager can download all tasks
and meetings that are not 100% complete regardless of the resources allocated
to them. Any help would be appreciate because right now when I do everything
using my Administrator account (all on one PC) to test, I am only able to
download 3 of the 50 some incomplete tasks.

Thanks

I have no idea what you are talking about. In your message, you are using
non-standard terms about Project Server 2007. For example, "...upload a
Microsoft Project file to the PWA site" and "...download all tasks..." and
"...download 3 of the 50 some incomplete tasks." Nowhere in Project Server
2007 does a project manager upload a Microsoft Project file. And the only
place a user can download tasks is using the Outlook add-in. So, before we
go any further, could you please confirm that you have done the following:

1. In Project Professional 2007, create a Project Server login account
using Tools - Enterprise Options - Microsoft Office Project Server Accounts.
2. Launched Microsoft Project 2007 and connected to Project Server using
that login account.
3. Created the enterprise project and saved it in the Project Server
database (NOT on your hard drive or a network drive).
4. Published the project using File - Publish.

Let us know if you have actually followed the above process. Beyond this,
if you are the Project Server administrator, when you created each resource
in the system, did you set each resource as his/her own Default Assignment
Owner? Let us know.

Sorry for using non-standard terms.

I have done everything you have mentioned using the standard Administrative
account and authenticating via the Windows login. Will go back and try to
create seperate user accounts in Project Server and authenticating that way.
I did not create resources on Project Server however. I assumed that the
resources in each project file would be pulled and synched with the server
resources.

In Project Professional 2007, you only need to create a single Project
Server login account. When you added resources to your project, did you
click Tools - Build Team from Enterprise and add them? Or did you type
their names in the Resource Sheet view? Let us know.

I had created resources from pulling the names out of my company address book.

Should I add resources on Microsoft Project Server then assign the resources
into the Project File using the method you described?

Yes, you need to add the resources to the Enterprise Resource Pool and then
assign them to the project using the Build Team dialog. Let us continue to
know how you are doing.
