I have 2 seperate data bases created in Access 2003 of similar design which
both work fine.

I have installed them on another computer which runs access 2000.

One of the Data Bases opens without a problem and the other gives the error
message "You do not have the necessary permissions to run this Data Base"
Could any one advise me what the problem could be?

The one that works has a Password to open and the other one not. I would
not have thought this would pose a problem.
Thanks for any help

I noticed that you have two posting I am assuming they are for they same
problem. You are on track in that one of your databases is not finding the
default workgroup adm. Joining it to the default mdw should solve your
problem.

The error message implies that the user is not using the correct mdw
file, and the mdb in question is secure.

The best way to implement, is to leave the users' computers joined by
default to the standard system.mdw that ships with Access, and provide a
desktop shortcut for secure mdb files - the shortcut includes a switch
that will override the default mdw setting. The target looks like:
"path to msaccess.exe" "path to secure mdb" /wrkgrp "path to secure mdw"
