PERSONAL.XLS & PERSONAL.XLS.pro

Hi,


can any please advise me why on opening Excel 2000 on my works PC I ge
two files opening i.e.

PERSONAL.XLS & PERSONAL.XLS.pro

as opposed to only one i.e. PERSONAL.XLS on my home PC.

Is it safe to delete the PERSONAL.XLS.pro and if so how ?

I've never heard of THAT file. It sounds to me like your personal.xls
somehow got renamed. I would first REMOVE personal.xls.pro from it's current
location--maybe to your desktop--and then launch Excel again. Of course,
Excel must be closed when you do that.

There must be two files in the XLSTART directory.

I would suggest doing a search on the .Pro file, and move it to another
directory. If Excel still works okay, nothing is missing, you can then
delete it.
