how do i stop the personnal.xls file opening each time i start excell

Go to your XLStart folder on your hard drive under the Microsoft Office
folder and delete it from there. However if you have any general
purpose macros assigned they will no longer work once deleted.

But note that everytime you go to Record a macro and select to record i
to your Personal.xls, Excel will create a new Personal.xls in you
XLStart folder if it does not find one already there (and then it wil
be opened automatically once you start Excel).

Go into Windows Explorer and look in Documents and settings\xx\Start
menu\Programs\Startup. (xx could be Administrator, All Users, Default
user). Delete the file Shortcut to personnal.xls and it wont load next time
the computer is booted.
