Phantom "Other Commitments"

Gary

I am using Proj Pro/Server 2007. A few of my enterprise resources
are
showing that they have "Other Projects and Commitments" in the
Resource Usage view, however they definitely do NOT have commitments
on other projects. Also, I cannot expand the Other Projects line
(clicking on the "+")_for these particular resources. Other
resources
with legitimate assignments in other projects are showing up properly
and I can expand the + to see where else they're allocated.

This is causing me difficulty in leveling these resources. Has
anyone
encountered this problem before, and can you give some advice on an
easy way to clean up the problem?

Sincere thanks,
Gary

Gary,

I am also having the same issue with one of my deployments. Have you
been able to find any additional information on the issue?

Thanks,

I believe that the standard display of resource information in the Resource
Usage view shows a "Other Projects andCommitments" for EVERY resource,
regardless of whether they have any other projects or commitments. If a
resource has other projects or commitments, and you expand that section, you
will see one line for each additional project in which the resource is
assigned at least one task, along with a line for Timesheet hours, if you
use the My Timesheet functionality. If you do not want to see the "Other
Projects andCommitments" line for your resources in the Resource Usage view,
then do the following:

1. While in Project Professional 2007, click Tools - Enterprise Options -
Microsoft Office Project Server Accounts.
2. In the Project Server Accounts dialog, select the "Manually control
connection state" option and then click the OK button.
3. Exit and relaunch Project Professional 2007.
4. In the Login dialog, deselect the "Load Summary Resource Assignments"
option and then click the OK button.
5. Open any project with resource and then click View - Resource Usage.

You should not see the "Other Projects andCommitments" line for each
resource in this View. If you later want to see the line again, reverse
step #4 above. Hope this helps.
