phone number form (XXX) XXX-XXXX, i turned it off by accident

I use to type in phone numbers like this 7043333333......and they came out
automatically like this (704) 333-3333........now they come out
7043333333.....how can i turn that back on?i like the dashes and areacode
thing coming on automatically.....it's a little nice thing, i would rather
not loose.
