Photo Gallery doesn't display once published

I created a photo gallery, saved it, published it.
Everything looks ok (the thumbnails and text appear on
the site), however, nothing happens when you select any
of the thumbnails. Can anyone help me figure out what to
do?

All of your images are pointing back to your local machine. This is normal cause by not having a web
/ site open when creating your pages or adding content and/or the images were not imported into the
current open FP web / site prior to using them on your pages.

I guess I don't fully understand what it means to 'have a
web site open when creating my pages'.

Please advise exactly what I have to do prior to creating
a photo gallery...

Thank you.

File Menu | Open Web / Site then you can create or modify your pages. Also use File Menu | Import to
bring any photos into the current open web before using them.

In addition...you have GOT to optimize the images the only one i got to see before it crashed my machine was over 300K in file size.

Use a 3rd party image editor to optimize them... Photoshop, Image Ready, Irfranview, whatever you like to use...FIRST before you Import the images into FP.

I hope you don't mind if maybe we start from ground
zero...

at http://www.holtswcd.org I am trying to get my photo
and other images to appear once published.

In FP, from File Menu, I selected 'open site'. Once the
site was open, I then created the page. (This is how I
have been doing each page right along).

My confusion/problem obviously stems from two things:
1) I have not been compressing (optimizing) my graphics
PRIOR to using them in FP.
2) I have not been IMPORTING the graphics, but rather
using insert-picture-from file options from FP's drop
down menu.

Correct so far?

Now, I have created a page and want to import a photo
(that I have already compressed) from a file on my local
hard drive. While in FP on the page, I click File,
Import - from here, I am lost....

I thought I did it correctly, but, as you can see - still
no graphics....

Thanks, Regina

Ok, after you have compressed your images and have a web open, either use the File Menu | Import
command or drag-n-drop the images into the current open web, then you can use them on your pages.

You can either use the Insert function to insert the image from the folder within the web or you can
drag the images onto your pages.

If using a component, such as the Photo Gallery, then you would use it insert function to insert the
images from the folder within your web.

FWIW: I also save any new pages first, prior to insert images, etc.

I must be a complete idiot.....I did exactly what you
suggested, but still no luck (refer to www.holtswcd.org).
Everything but the images/photo appears....What now?

Thank you for your patience.

Since your site is hosted on a Unix/Linux server, you need to check and correct the case of the
actually filenames as compared to the filename appearing in the link to the image.

Under Unix/Linux, image.jpg and image.JPG are consider to separate files, whereas under Windows they
are considered to be the same file.

Once I've checked the paths - what do I do then? How do
I fix this? Do I delete the images and attempt to Re-
import them? If so, where do I want the photos to reside
once imported?

Some of your images are in; /images, some are in the
root, some in /photos, and some are just not there at
all.

Rename the photo to a completely different name, let FP update, then rename to the correct name.

HELP!! I've done everything just as suggested, and the
photogallery is still not functional. It does, however,
appear differently, now. Please refer to
www.holtswcd.org/whatsnew.html
The file info in the center of the page (where the
gallery is supposed to be) is the file location where the
gallery pics reside. How do I get them to display?

Also, now the interactive buttons on this page do not
display. How do I fix that?

Remove all spaces and other special characters from file and folder names, currently your image
point to your C:\ and S:\ drives which indicated that you did not have a web open when you create
the page and inserted the images or that you did not import the images into the current open FP web
before using them.
