photo gallery I want to use slide show layout

Doesn't anyone know or have experienced this problem in
the frontpage photogallery there are not too many options
when one selects the slide show layout.

Please don't tell me to use a different otion I want to
use the slide show for my application it works best.

I want to have only 3 or 4 thmbnails displayed at the top
not 5 because(currently i have 6 pictures in
it pushes my page way out and then people who use 800
by 600 they have to scroll to see my page and i would like
to keep it in a range they can view but still use the
slide show option is that possible?
Plus whenyou get to the last picture you have to click
twice to see the last picture number 6 that is dumb.
Anyone know a way around this?

Then you must live with what is available. You can control the size of
the thumbs but not how many is displayed.
