Photo Gallery Options with FP2000

I need to display some photos online and have a version of FP2000. I
know that FP didn't include the photo gallery option until 2002 and I
also know it's not very good. Is there any way I can use FP with
gallery software like Porta or SimpleView to make a webpage happen for
me? I will initially be showing about 50 or less photos, but may
expand that some, but probably never more than say 100.

Someone here suggested jalbum, and the site has been down for days, but
I see it's up again. Is Jalbum a stand-alone or can I use with in
conjunction with FP? (Can you tell I don't know much about this?)

JAlbum just creates all the files needed for the slide show or gallery to to
work. You do this to a folder outside of FP's web, then Import the entire
folder into FP. Its really easy.

It's standalone. You create the album and then import it into FrontPage

Don't try to put anymore than about 30 photos (thumbnails) on a page. Do 2
galleries for 50 and at least 3 for 100.

These jalbum, IrafanView, both look good. I will pick one. Eleanor, I
was planning on no more than a dozen photos per page. I think it lays
out better that way. Even thirty is overwhelming visually.

place them in a folder in FP, how do I link back to a mainpage in FP?
Do these photo programs allow me to add HTML codes?

With a JAlbum you'll just Import the entire folder into your FP web. Then
you can create a link back on the main index page...or...with some of the
JAlbum skins you can do that during the generation process. I usually find
it simplier to do it manually once the album is in FP. You have LOTS of
options with JAlbum.

There are especially good HELP files for JAlbum!
