Photos inserted in drawing object ... help

K

Kate G.

In Word 2003 or 2000, is it possible to adjust the centering of a photo
inserted into a drawing object (like a heart or a star)?

In my photo, the "focus" of the photo is left of center. Do I need to
adjust the photo in a graphics application... or can I reposition it within
the drawing object?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Kate,

If you're using Fill Effect=>Picture for an autoshape you'll want to crop the picture prior to using it as a fill to move your
content to be displayed more to the center. You don't have Word tools to reposition the 'fill' in those versions within a shape.

If you're inside a shape and use instead, right click, Add Text then from there use Insert=>Picture, you can use a combination of
the View=>Toolbars, picture toolbar and the text centering command to chop the picture and then slide it over, but Add text keeps
the picture in the text box area (rectangular) of a shape so it wouldn't, for example, fill the points of the star.
