Physical % complete on Gantt chart?

Hi,

I would like to show the physical % complete instead of % complete on the
Gantt chart (PJ 2003 Pro).

I changed the definition of the progress row in the G.C. view from "Complete
through" into "Physical % Complete" but have problems.

First, when I drag the %, it immediately jumps into 100%. If I adjust the
Physical % complete field in the Tracking table, it follows but sometimes
vanishes completely. Furthermore, for split tasks the bar shows also in the
period where there should be no work. Altogether it behaves very strangely.

Is there anybody who has experience with using this field?
