Physical % complete Roll up

Hi,

Although I have read that the Physical % complete does not roll up in many
threads before, I have discovered that it does under certain circumstances.

When you set all tasks in the tree to use Phys % complete under Earned Value
Method.
You have a baseline saved
You have resources assigned

Question is, what formula does it use to do this?

Thanks

Robin

I'd like to know more about your procedure. I cannot reproduce a rollup of
Physical % Complete using the instructions you listed.

Have tried this on a few machines and have come back with the same results

All I do is create say 3 tasks and indent 2 & 3 to be subtasks of Task 1.
Give them a 5 day duration, (Fixed duration, non effort driven). Select all
tasks and from task info box set their 'Earned Value Method' to 'Physical %
Complete'.

Create a new resource (or use enterprise resource) and assign it to the two
tasks. Then make sure to save a baseline. Everything seems to be calculated
off the baseline.

Don't know if this is a bug or is designed to preform this way

I am on SP2 aswell. Make sure the resource has an hourly rate included. And
after changing anything re baseline it.

I think this is deffinately a bug as the calculations get screwed up, so I
won't be using it anyway, although I would like to be able to Show Phys %
complete at high level (Summary Tasks) for management reports

OK, I see now.

The Physical % Complete rollup is calculated as BCWP / Baseline Cost.
