Pick From List of VLookup?

I have a master spreadsheet template that has repetitive data that ha
to be put in specific cells. i.e. city name (from a city.xls table,
document number (form a docControl.xls table) etc.

What is the easiest way to get this done

You may post some example data (plain text - no attachment please) to
