Pick records from a table

I need help in choosing records that meet the following criteria: clients'
children between 5 andf 11 years old; the problem is that the table has 6
fields as follows: Age1, Age2, Age3, Age4, Age5, Age6; and, the fields are
treated as text (I know it was a error from the beginning but, with more than
5000 records, changing them to number is not worth...). How can I meet the
criteria without having empty records in the result; I already used
"IsNotNull" and/or "IsNull", to choose the records but, I think I am missing
some of them. Any sugestion? Thank you!!!

"How" depends on "what" -- and I don't have a very clear picture of what
your data is.

By the way, you will find that you will continue to have problems getting
Access to handle that data the way you described you've organized it. You
can 'pay now or pay later' -- either spend the time to make the data right,
or keep looking for workarounds because the data is not right.

Hello Max...,

I will change your fields to a normalized design and change the 5000 records
to numbers for a nominal fee. If interested, contact me.

If stevie was any good, then his "satifisied" customers should be giving him
a lot of repeat business. Since there does not appear to be a lot of repeat
business, I guess that is a good indication of the quality of his work.

These newsgroups are provided by Microsoft for FREE peer to peer support.
There are many highly qualified individuals who gladly help for free. Stevie
is not one of them, but he is the only one who just does not get the idea of
"FREE" support. He offers questionable results at unreasonable prices. If he
was any good, the "thousands" of people he claims to have helped would be
flooding him with work, but there appears to be a continuous drought and he
needs to constantly grovel for work.

A few gems gleaned from the Word New User newsgroup over the Christmas
holidays to show Stevie's "expertise" in Word.

Word 2007 ..........
In older versions of Word you could highlght some text then go to Format -
Change Case and change the case of the hoghloghted text. Is this still
available in Word 2007? Where?
Thanks! Steve

I am designing a series of paystubs for a client. I start in landscape and
draw a table then add columns and rows to setup labels and their
corresponding value. This all works fine. After a landscape version is
completed, I next need to design a portrait version. Rather than strating
from scratch, I'd like to be able to cut and paste from the landscape
version and design the portrait version.

How do you protect the document for filling in forms?
Steve

One of my favourites:
Dec 30, 2008 8:07 PM - a reply to stevie
(The original poster asked how to sort a list and stevie offered to create
the OP an Access database)
Yes, you are right but a database is the correct tool to use not a
spreadsheet.

Not at all. If it's just a simple list then a spreadsheet is perfectly
adequate...

maxoo,

Is Null is not the same as "" (double quotes) OR if there is a space in the
field then " ". However, trying to visualize how you are querying this
table is eluding me... Perhaps showing the entire query would help.

You can't possibly understand the problem, as it has not been clearly
described, so you cannot promise to fix anything, even if you were capable
in the first place.

I have extensive experience fixing and creating databases. After working
with a multitude of customers, it is easy in most cases to interpret what
the customer needs. I have built a successful business providing basic help
to customers. If you would spend your time working on databases rather than
stalking my posts in the newsgroups, you might over time be able to
undertand problems posted like this.

We have seen examples of the "quality of your work" and your constant need
to grovel for work speaks volumes about your level of repeat business.

I repeat that you cannot understand the problem based on so little
information, certainly not enough to say you can do what is needed for a
small amount of money. It is not just that you cannot understand, but that
nobody could without more information.

If you worked with as many customers as you claim you would not need to
troll here, unless there is no repeat business and no word-of-mouth
referrals. That you do not post any samples and tips on your web site, and
indeed have refused to answer the question of why you do not, suggests that
you have nothing worthwhile to post.

Your condescending attitude toward my abilities is so desperate and pathetic
it does not offend me. That could only happen from somebody I respect. If
you had read my replies in this newsgroup rather than using it as an
advertising forum you would have some understanding of what I can do, but
rest assured I do not aspire toward your goal of an intuitive understanding
of a customer's needs. Responding to you does not take up much of my time,
but I join in the effort to assure you do not pervert the intent of a free
newsgroup. If you want to advertise, pay for it.

Yes by asking for help on the NGs. Some people on here are generous to a
fault by helping you. And who fixes the abominations that you create?
After working with a multitude of customers, it is easy in most cases to
interpret what the customer needs.

That statement just goes to prove you know nothing about requirements
gathering, prototyping and testing.
I have built a successful business providing basic help to customers.

So why do you need to keep grovelling for work on the NGs?

You don't have the credibility to be condescending to anyone. Faced with
the choice between you and Bruce to do business with, guess who I'd choose?
I imagine that my choice would be the popular one.
