Picture Background printing

I have a jpeg background made for Word, it is sized to fit on full page. I did a format>background>fill effects>picture and chose the background picture. It looks great on-screen and in Print Preview. But when I print, it prints the background tiled 6X6. I cannot find an option for this, please help.

Hi, dan. Instead of using Format>Background, have you tried inserting the picture into the header? Click on View>HeaderFooter, then click on Insert>Picture>FromFile, and select your jpeg. Once it is inserted in the header, right-click on the jpeg, left-click on FormatPicture>Layout>BehindText. Then resize the jpeg as desired and drag it to the desired position. Close the header. Print. Does it print better this way?
