Picture editing, text box options...

Currently Using: OneNote 2007 and 2010beta
Comp: HP tablet
Running: Win 7 home 32

Suggestions: (this might be redundant)

Since most of the stuff that i import into One Note turns out to be a
picture (either by printing, screen clip, . i wish we had more Picture
Editing capabilities.
Something like what we already have in Word, or Powerpoint. (Crop, rotate,
align with text options, etc)

I would also like for the test boxes to be more editable, like in
Powerpoint. If we can set settings for automatically changing the font for a
specific sized text box, or re-sizing the box to fix text. If we can get more
options for borders and themes for text boxes (like in ppt) it would be
awesome!

As always- better integration with PDFs would be helpful. I have a tablet so
I use onenote for all my classes, where all the files are pdfs. Even though
writing on pdfs for me is really awkward and laggy, i like having being able
to highlight in a straight line. I hate that in OneNote we can only Pen
highlight- and mine's always a bit squiggly.
- I was using the rectangle tool, but as a print-out you can't see the text
below in 2007, and now in 2010, the color is solid so i can't see the text
below at all.


I am loving 2010 right now, the tool bar is so much neater, and out of my
way. I can see so much more of my actual page. Good job Office ppl. (even
though I have to readjust and hunt around for all my favorite tools.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a ribbon tab called "Favorites" so I can have
all my favorite tools in one place? That would make my day.

I love to pen in my onenote pages, but the colors available are just not
enough. I'm a bit highlighting person, and have more color highlighters in
(in the real world) than in OneNote... that's just plain wrong. (I own a
12set of sharpie highlighters... ) Why is there no pink highlighter?!
- Yes, there's these faded looking colors at the bottom of the color palate,
but they are too light, and don't show up that well on my white background,
and not at all on my colored backgrounds.

I fully agree with your suggestions.
We don't have any chance, however, to see anything new in the direction
of graphics etc. prior to Office 15 :-( :-(
The developers obviously were focussed on the "Universal Access" issues
and almost everything having to do with graphics, annotating etc. has
been neglected. I'm really disappointed that most important things like
"grouping/anchoring" etc. will not be bettered and ON on so far swill
remain far below what's needed.

I think that your day has been made already, you just did not detect it
<bg>.
There are two features for customizing:
a) One can create "custom" Tabs and populate them with whatever commands
one wants to have there.
See: Backstage | Options | Customize Ribbon

b) One can put any command in/into the "QAT" (Quick Access Toolbar).
IMO this would be the place for your "favorites".
I gave asses the daily used stuff there and put the QAT *below* the
Ribbon. With the Ribbon folded the UI looks almost like before.

Just play with it and have fin ;-)
