picture in shared borders

Using FP2002 ....

I am trying to place a gif banner (embedded not linked) in the shared
borders of my web site. When I do that the border does not expand to
accommodate it. I can't see a setting to allow for a proper display of the
picture. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

Hi Gregory,

Embedded not linked -- what does that mean?

Shared borders are just includes placed into defined table layouts as such they expand to fit the contents.

G

Gregory Hallam

That's the problem Mike. My shared border does NOT expand to include the
picture. By embedded, I mean that the image is in the web site folder
rather than hyperlinked from somewhere else.

Sorty Mike I don't understand. Do you want to see the image itself? I am
in the middle of a 100% overgaul of the site and I am halfway through.

If you do it is currently on the home page of the first web site below.
It's an animated gif banner at the bottom of the page entitled "Seeking

Gregory,

I may be nuts, but I don't see any shared borders on the clara.net index page.
I see a little animated friar dood in the left column of the table on that page.

Dear Rob

You don't yet! I have not uploaded the pages. I just want to know why the
picture I have placed in the shared border dopesn't expand the box on my
home machine ... in other words why it doesn't display properly.

oh, ok...so at least i'm not going crazy yet.

1- will you be putting it in a bottom shared border or a side shared border?
2- how wide is the image you intend to insert?

there aren't any shared border currently (that I can see) so you must be totally redoing the pages

why not publish it and see what happens?

Dear CG

I am only testing this on my machine at the moment. Nothing is uploaded.

The image is on a bottom border and its size is 12.38cm by 1.59 cm. It does
not show when I preview in IE6 or within FrontPage.
