Picture Manager - Resolution of images when saving

Hi,

I have some large scanned images that I need to crop and resize in Picture
Manager. The image looks great when I first open the original file in Pic.
Man. The cropping works, but when I save the file the picture quality is
greatly reduced to the point where the image looks like lego! I tried this
with original images scanned at 600 dpi and then again at 400 dpi.

Any suggestions to maintain the picture quality would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

SM

I checked the compression settings when I export the file as a jpg, and I
made sure it was checked to use the original compression setting. This still
resulted in poor image quality.

When I tried to export it as a gif it looked great! I'm not sure why this
worked and the jpg export didn't, but I have a feeling its above my head.
