picture manager

Several people have sent me pps files and when I click on them, Picture
Manager opens but no matter what else I click I get only that pink-red icon.
How do I open these? Thanks.

Is it likely to be a Power Point Slide show? If so then you either need
power point or power point viewer in your system.

Viewer is free from Microsoft. Power point is a commercial application
which you need to buy.

OK I downloaded the viewer. Now I have a different icon that isn't doing
anything. It says it's a slide show. How do I open it? Thanks

Just double-click on one of them (.pps files) and it should launch the
viewer automatically. You must have installed the viewer first,
ofcourse.

If .pps is a picture file then clearly viewer won't be of any help.
