Picture not showing up

Just recently, I began having an issue with Word 2004 for Mac.
Inserted pictures show up as just picture boxes - I can't see the
picture, unless I click on it. Then it open as usual into a separate
window for editing. As soon as I close the window, I am back to the box
but no visible picture. I can't figure out what has changed that is
keeping me from see ing my picture in anything but edit mode.

There is a preference called "picture place holders". Try unchecking that
and see if it helps.

Just wanted you to know that this worked like a charm. In the
preference panel, it is "image placeholder". Clicked this option off
and things are back to normal.
