Picture printed, but text not on it.

I inserted a picture into a Word document. Then I used the object format command to resize the picture, and set the Layout feature to allow text to be displayed on top of a picture. I copied and pasted text ontop the picture. I formatted the background in black, and I was pleased with the display image. Then I saved the file to disk, and proceeded to print it. The printed version had no text on it. I wonderr what happened to the text? Can you explain why I am unable to print text on top a picture that is visible on the screen will not print?

If the picture is inline and the text is in a text box, most likely you're
not printing objects in the drawing layer. On the Print tab of Tools |
Options, make sure that "Drawing objects" is checked.
