Picture problems

I decided my website was boring and have been working on giving it more
life. I moved a bunch of pictures around - not to different pages, but
around on the page they were on to start with. Now, when I click on them I
get the little use Ctrl-Click, but it goes nowhere. Can't get them to open
at all.

What did I do to cause this and what do I need to do to fix it?

They were on the page as thumbnails that I could click to see the bigger
picture. After I moved them around all over the page, the thumbnails
wouldn't open to a bigger picture. Then I tried making those pictures that
were already on the webpage thumbnails and, of course, I got the message
saying that these pictures were already smaller than a thumbnail (or
something to that effect).

Should I just delete all the pictures from the web pages & from the images
folder & start all over again - inserting them like they'd never been there
before?

in message Open?...the images that you placed on the pages will need to be Thumbnails
to larger images then...if I understand you correctly.

When you created thumbnails out of thumbnails, FP created a link pointing to
the thumbnail. Rightclick the thumb, select hyperlink properties, and point
the url to the large pic. Alternately, you could redo the whole page.

Now, I'm getting really frustrated. I completely deleted the pictures from
FP including the thumbnail. Then imported them into FP. Inserted them into
my webpage and clicked auto thumbnail. Saved the page, got the box wanting
you to edit the pictures, told it to save & close. When I click on the
thumbnail inserted on the page it does not open the big picture & Editing
Selected Picture shows up down on the task bar.

What am I doing wrong? I've imported and inserted lots of pix into FP.
Never had this happen before.

Ahh! I thought she already knew/was doing that. Gawd!

in message You should be inserting the BIG image into your design (yes..it'll look too
big but)...then click on that to utilize the auto-thumb tool.

I 'WAS' inserting the ""BIG"" picture onto the page & then auto thumbnailing
that ""BIG""
picture.

I know that the picture looks big when you first insert it & then you auto
thumbnail that picture - I've been using FP for several years - that's why
I can't figure out what's going on here.

Would do no good to post my url, I haven't uploaded all of these changes,
and won't be until I get it to working right.

Thanks anyhow - I'll figure it out - I always do. Just thought maybe some
of you would have an idea what's happening and I wouldn't have to spend so
much time trying to figure out my problem.

See reply above - I won't be uploading to my url until I get it working
correctly.

Donna,

Are any of these "Big" picture over 1 MB in size?

No - I always edit my pictures with Adobe Photoshop or Photodraw and reduce
them down to between 15 kb - 50 kb and save them as jpg before I ever start
using them in FP.

Use Preview or Preview in Browser.
If you Ctrl-click an image in design mode FrontPage will attempt to open an
image editor (if one has been set up) or do nothing.
