Picture shows up as a box with a red X in a signature

I've tried to change my security settings, as much as I dare.
I'm trying to put a jpg logo in my email messages. I get the dreaded red X
box.
I can right click and go to properties and manually insert, but that's just
not right. It looks fine in my edit signature area.
What's the deal?
