Picture Watermarks Word 2003

Although I follow the procedure for installing Picture Watermark via
Format-Background-Printed Watermark-Picture when I click Apply

Message updating Fields appears above Status Bar

Then when I review Task manager I get the message 'not responding'

Works perfectly OK with Text Watermark
