make a picture as watermark in the word 2003

I have a picture and want to make it as a watermark in my word document
(2003). But when I tried it (format – background – printed watermark), it
automatically has a lighten effect even without kicking ‘washout’.

I understand that the word tried to make it not to disturb the text on it.
But in my case, it doesn’t have such problem because my text will not be on
it.

So does any one know how to make the picture watermark presented as its
original and solid way in the word 2003?

Thank you very much!

Pictures inserted as watermarks have the "washout" color choice applied
automatically. If this is not what you want, you can change it via View |
Header. Select the watermark picture and change the color selection. But
note, too, that objects in or anchored to the header are always dimmed when
you are working in the document body and vice versa.
