pictures in emails from microsoft.com

Hi,

I am using outlook 2003 and it automatically blocks pictures in HTML emails,
which is a good idea.

However, I just got an email from a microsoft.com addres and the pictures
downloaded without prompting.

I have checked my list of trusted sites, safe senders and safe recipients
and none contain microsoft.com

how so? are microsoft exempt from their own security rules?

The pictures probably were embedded in the messages rather than linked to
source files at microsoft.com.

hmm, now here's a funny thing

I just went back into my inbox (after restarting outlook in the meantime)
and the pictures are now blocked in the usual way !?!?

I went and looked at the safe lists yesterday but they were all empty and I
didn't change anything. The only explanation I can think is that maybe
microsoft.com was automatically in the trusted sites list but for some
reason it didn't display, then when I went into the list and pressed OK
again it got deleted ?

very spooky
