pictures in emails

Hi, I have noticed lately that I get emails that show there are attachments,
but these pictures are really part of the email and should be in the email
itself not as a seperate attachment why is this??

Hard to say without any details. Most likely it is caused by improper
message conversion by your ISP or a virus scanner that integrates with
Outlook.
