Pictures inserted in a word document do not show

As a result of a hardware problem I had to replace my hard
drive. After I restored all application MS Word 200
stopped showing the pictures that I had inserted in all my
documents.

The same is happening to documents that with power point
slides into them.

I downloaded and applied all MS office updates.

What can I do? I have a large library of such documents.

I can send you sample files if you need it.
