Pictures not showing - only 'code' shows

Help needed....

I have Word 2000. There are three users on the computer.

When opening a document which has a picture on it (from a digital camera),
two of the users have no problem with the document. Everything shows as
would be expected....borders, picture, fonts etc.

However, when opened by the third user, the document defaults to a generic
looking font, the borders disappear, and the picture does not display in the
document. What does show is some of the picture properties and then many
pages of code --- looks something like what you might get froma printer
malfunction.

The third user has probably done something to a setting somewhere ...... but
where?

Any suggestions on how to resolve the problem?

Thanks

Hi =?Utf-8?B?Sm9objY2?=,

Have the user check the "File format" setting when in Word's File/Open dialog
box and make sure it's set to "Word document (*.doc)". This sounds like the
user is forcing it to open as a text file, or something like that.

If that has no effect, have him rename Normal.dot to NormalOLD.dot, then start
up Word (this will generate a clean copy of Normal.dot for his profile). Now
have him open the file.
