Pie Chart within a pie chart

I have a pie chart and now i did to separate up its sections int
smaller sections depending on the value of another column.
please help..an extreme emergency.

You need to change the chart to a PIE in PIE chart. I'd suggest copying
the chart to a new sheet to do this, in case something doesn't work right.

Select the chart,
Chart -> Chart Type -> Standard Type -> Pie -> Chart Subtype Pie in Pie.

You can then format the data series options to select the number of values
in the second plot.

You may need to extend Barbara's solution further, say the main chart shows market
sizes in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, and you want three smaller pies to show the
breakdown of each market according to some other factors. If so, make yourself four
separate pie charts, the main chart and the three satellite charts; in the last step
of the chart wizard, make them objects in the same worksheet. Format the chart area
(background) of each satellite chart so it's transparent (no border, no fill), then
arrange them around the main chart. Use autoshape arrows from the drawing toolbar
pointing from the sub charts to the main chart.
