Jim -- I got your book. Chapter 43, "Using FrontPage 2003 and Visual Studio
..NET Together" is great, but it's too short. ;-) Count me down as another
who would like to see more about this topic.

FWIW I'm a relative newbie to both FP and VS.NET. My goal is to develop a
nice looking, SQL Server 2000 data driven, interactive, *attractive* web
site. The site is hosted by www.discountASP.net. It's been quite a job
learning enough to set up my development environment of a WinXP laptop,
Win2000 desktop and Win2003 Server so I can develop locally and publish to
the web host. I'm still in the process of wrapping my brain around
effectively using SQL Server 2000 both locally and on my web host.

I would definitely buy a book on "Using FrontPage 2003 and Visual Studio
..NET Together" if it could help shorten my learning curve.

Thanks.

Thanks for buying the book, and for the positive feedback.

Actually, I've been through several iterations of book proposals on
this topic. However, I was unable to convince MS Press that there was
a sufficient market.
A case in point is Peter Ladka's book, "ASP.NET for Web Designers,"
that's received good reviews on Amazon.com, but doesn't seem to be
selling very well.

Crossing over from ASP and FrontPage to ASP.NET and Visual Studio has
simply been too difficult for the majority of Web designers. And so
far, at least it doesn't seem that a new book is the answer. (Crossing
over from VB6 Windows apps to ASP.NET Web apps, however, seems to be
commonplace.)

So, for now, you still have to teach your right brain about Web
design, then teach your left brain about Web programming, and then
somehow perform a merge.
