Pinging Rod Gill - re your VBA book

D

Dave

Hello Rod -

I just received "VBA Programming for Microsoft Office Project" from
Amazon and want to compliment you on your work. This is a great
working aid - to me, it's the first comprehensive explanation of how
VBA actually works in Project and it pulls together bits of essential
information that is practically impossible to find anywhere else.
It's
basic enough for the beginner and detailed enough for the experienced
developer.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with VBA in
Project.

Congratulations!

As one of the editor's of Rod's book, I want to thank you for your kind
compliment. We all worked really hard on Rod's book and are happy to hear
the nice reception his book is getting in the user community. By the way,
our company has recently begun offering online VBA classes taught by none
other than Rod Gill himself. I had the honor of serving as the host of
Rod's first class yesterday, which went great, of course. Thanks again for
the compliment!

You're a scholar, a gentleman and a great judge of whiskey! (Favorite
compliment of an old Irish acquaintance). I hasten to point out that the
book is what it is because of Dale and the MSProjectExperts teams
contributions and perseverance!

Many thanks and may all your code work first time!

Wow - thanks for writing this book. There is definitely a dearth of MSP books
of this nature out there.

Would you consider submitting this book to Safari Books Online
(http://www.safaribooks.com/)? I've already asked Safari customer service for
this book - and they said they would contact the publisher - so I thought I
would speed it along and ask the author/editor directly :).

congrats on your book!

Would like to make the book available online, but I need to pay for the
print run and other costs first!! Would need to know how secure this was as
well. The book was a lot of work for me (and Dale and Gary et al in
MSProjectExperts), so we can't afford to risk having copies 'stolen' in
online format at least until the book doesn't owe us anything!

Thanks for considering it - and I understand about having to recoup the
costs. I believe Safari has a protocol in place that would prevent someone
from "printing" out an entire book. I'm sure they will give more details when
they contact your publisher.

By the way, I love the quote "It's basic enough for the beginner and
detailed enough for the experienced developer." Would you mind posting that
as an Amazon review please?

Many thanks.
