Pivot Table Customized Views

Is there a way to save a view (not just settings), but specific filtering
choices in a pivot table, i.e. If you want to create different groups
specifically based on the filtered criteria, you could just select a "view
name" and get the group you request?

Custom Views don't store pivot table settings. Perhaps you could record
a macro as you make selections from the pivot field dropdown lists.
Then, run that macro to reapply the selections.

I tried that and unfortunately, I think it told me there was too much data to
store and gave me an error. I was hoping you would be the one to respond.
As I reviewed some of the questions, you seemed to have some really great
solutions. This file is huge and I'm not sure there is such a solution.
It's a shame, because it would been a great tool if I could create it.

Yes, it would be a nice feature. You could send your suggestion to
Microsoft:

[email protected]

Put "Excel" in the subject line, so your suggestion can be forwarded to
the Excel product managers.

In the meantime, maybe it would work if you record the steps in smaller
sections, e.g. set a few fields, then turn off the recorder. Turn it on,
and change a few more fields. Then, make one macro that runs the
recorded macros.

Thank you...That seems like a great idea. I think the problem is that I am
picking about 10 names in one of the drop downs and there are so many records
that it has to mark that I "don't" want to see that it is too much data to
remember. I will, however, try your idea. Thank you for replying and I will
send my idea.
