Pivot table greyed out in Data menu

I would like to create a pivot table, but on this particular spreadsheet the
command is grayed out on the Data menu. How can I convince Excel to allow me
to use it? The only anomaly I see is in the title bar it has [Shared] after
file name. If this is my problem, how do I get rid of it?

Tools|share workbook|Editting tab
uncheck all/any names.


You may want to look at Shared workbooks in excel's help to see what was
happening. (Multiple users update the workbook at the same time.)
