Hi,

I have come across a problem using pivot tables.
After creating the pivot table I select a filter drop down
but it will not let me edit any of the checkboxes.

I have tried numerous spreadsheets and even re-installed
excel to no avail.

I have search the web and can find no reference to this problem.

There is no protection on the spreadsheet and on another
machine it works fine.

Has anyone seen this before and / or can suggest a solution.

Kind Regards,
Mark

Thanx Debra,

The problem is back at the office so will test on Monday and let you know.

Mark.

There isn't a Show All checkbox in Excel 2000. The macro doesn't add the
checkbox, it just adds a check mark to each item in the list.

Your home machine must have Excel 2002 or Excel 2003 -- those versions
do have the Show All checkbox.

In your initial post, you wrote "it will not let me edit any of the
checkboxes". Did you mean that you can't check or uncheck any of the
items, or did you mean something different?

Hi Debra,

I have tried that macro and yes it does hide all the items in the Row
Fields.

I also tried your Showall macro but it did not add the Showall checkbox
on this machine. It did one my home machine.

For what it is worth (as I am not sure this helps at all) I tried opening
the spreadsheet
in Internet Explorer and it all works fine. I discovered this because I
opened you
sample pivot sales in my browser and it worked.
As I say, don't know it that provides any pointers to the problem but it
might.

I have also tried opening Excel in safe mode and the problem remains.

This is a bizarre and very annoying problem.

Regards,

Mark.

Hey Debra,

All is OK. Don't ask how but this is what I did.

I opened one of your samples in a browser then saved it to the desktop.

I then opened it in Excel and the pivot checkboxes worked. Hmmm, me thinks,
why is that?

Opened my existing spreadsheet and checkboxes there
all work to.

Thanx for you help.

Cheers,
Mark
