pivot table report discarded due to integrity problems

I am receiving an error in a file that tells me that my pivot tables have
been discarded due to integrity problems. While I can open the file, I have
to save it with the Pivot Tables discarded to get the rest of the Workbook to
funtion normally. Is there any way to recover the Pivot tables and/or what
causes a Pivot Table to lose integrity?
