I have a very large worksheet set out like this

Student name Subject Grade
Student 1 Maths A
Student 1 English B
Student 1 Science C
Student 2 Maths A
Student 2 English B
Student 2 Science C
Student 3 Maths A
Student 3 English B
Student 3 Science C

Using a Pivot table I'd like it to appear like this

Student Name English Maths Science
Student 1 A B C
Student 2 A B C
Student 3 A B C

But it keeps wanting to count the grades, I'd just like it to show it?

Row Labels English Maths Science
Student 1 1 1 1
Student 2 1 1 1
Student 3 1 1 1

Any Suggestions, Thank you

Pivottables show numeric summaries (counts, averages, mins, maxs).

If the data is always the same -- three rows of data for each student and the
same 3 classes in the same order, you could use formulas (or a simple macro).

If the data varies (different number of rows per student or different classes
for different students), the macro changes.
