PivotTable - Date Range

Hi,
I was wondering if there was any way to get a range or multiple dates
when you filter using a pivottable. As it is right now, There is
"All", "Blank" and each individual date but not the ability to pick
multiple dates or a date range (12/1 - 12/31)

I currently am running the spreadsheet from Microsoft Office XP

1. Make sure the dates are excel dates (numeric) then after applying the
pivot right click a date in the pivot table and select group, then group by
day AND month

Thanks for the quick response.
not 100% sure what you mean by excel dates, but I believe you mean
theres no Jan but rather a 1/1/2005 which is what it currently looks
like, however, I have the "date" field in the Drop Page Fields Here box
in the pivottable, when I right click a date and then go to group, it
tells me that, that cannot be grouped. Im fairly sure this is
happening because of the placement of the "date" field. Is there a way
to do it from the Drop Page Fields Here Box?

It's probably seen as text even though it looks like a date, copy an empty
cell, sellect the source dates and do edit>paste special and select add

I figured out why this isnt working... 1. I had blank cells, 2. you
cant do it in the drop page field box you must do it in a column or row
box -- below is a good link for anyone else who needs help with this.

however, this doesnt help me at all... lol because it doesnt solve my
problem, but I will use some other method of doing this.

Hi

Having done the grouping as a Row or Column filed, you can drag the Date
back to a Page filed and the grouping will be retained and allow you to
select months.
