pixels versus inches in photo editing

While resizing photos, I usually based my units prefernce to INCHES rather
than PIXELS. Where can I acquire a pixel to inches conversion chart?

Is pixel better than inches? why?

There is no universal pixels to inch conversion as it depends on the
resolution and size of your screen.
The PPI on a screen with 1024x768 is different than the same screen at
1280x1024.
The PPI on a 14" screen at 1024x768 is different to a 19" screen at
1024x768

One method is no better or worse than another.
