Placement of page numbers - Please help

Eduardo

Hello,

I am creating a manual in Word, and I would like some help with page
numbering. Sample layout described below:

Title page – no number
Second page – display page 1 (bottom right corner)
Third page – display page 2 (bottom left corner)
Fourth page – display page 3 (bottom right corner)
etc

How can I control the placement of the pages number?
Your help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

In File > Page Setup > Layout check 'Different first page' and 'Different
odd and even'.

Make sure your document or template has at least three pages, and go into
header and footer view.

Insert page number (using button on the Header and Footer toolbar) on the
odd and even footers, leaving the first page footer blank. (If you use the
standard footer style, you may want to adjust the tabs so you have just the
right hand tab position at the right margin, then on the even page enter a
tab before the page number to force it right).

(This is slightly more longwinded than using Insert > Page number from the
menu, but if you are producing a manual I think you'll need full control and
understanding of your header and footer to save pain later.)
